For the 7th time now, VTU Energy exhibited at Electrify Europe (formerly Power-Gen Europe) which this year took place in Vienna on June 19-21. Together with the Austrian steel making company voestalpine, we had the honor of presenting a conference paper entitled “On-line Optimization of a Complex Industrial Power Plant Using a Novel Fast and Accurate Modeling Approach” which provided insight into a current project for an on-line optimization system at the voestalpine Linz power plant.

The Best Paper Awards Committee voted for our paper to be “Highly Commended”, ranking it among the three finalists of the conference track “Big Data – Big Opportunity”. We are very proud of this recognition, since it shows that VTU’s continuous strive for improvement and innovation has brought us to the leading edge of ‘big data’ applications in the power industry.
